March 23, 2020

Dear EPS Families and Staff,

Just a couple of items today…

CHILDCARE

Edina Public Schools will provide care for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Edina emergency workers. (See MDH’s list of  qualifying Emergency Workers). Approved forms of identification are an employee work badge or a letter from your employer. Visit this webpage for more information about hours and for an enrollment form.

ONLINE ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES

While social distancing may be keeping you a little too close at home, check out these online enrichment opportunities for K-8 students, brought to you by Edina Community Education. Scroll to the end of the page for a list of free virtual tours of museums, galleries and even Yellowstone National Park!

PLAYGROUNDS CLOSED

In keeping with recommendations by the Minnesota Department of Health, all Edina Public School playgrounds are closed beginning March 23 until further notice. Families should adhere to social distancing guidelines by also avoiding group activities on athletic fields.

COVID-19 RESPONSE PROJECT FIGHTS FOOD INSECURITY

As COVID-19 continues to spread in our state, and businesses close and/or layoff workers, food security is a growing problem for families in our community. Daily breakfast and lunch for students isn’t enough. Read more about COVID-19 Response, a combined effort of Edina Education Fund, Edina Give and Go, and the Meal Fund to provide evening meals for families in need.

Have a nice evening.
