Dear Edina Community,

Edina Public Schools is a remarkable place. Today is no different.

Superintendent Dr. Schultz has said ‘these are uncharted waters’ we are navigating. As circumstances and demands continue to evolve, our EPS staff has been working non-stop in thoughtful and considerate planning using expertise and up-to-date best practices from around the globe, guidance from the great state of Minnesota and leadership here, locally in Edina. This important work is essential to the well-being, safety and health of our collective Edina school community.

We wanted to take a moment to recognize how incredibly fortunate we are to have exceptional teachers, administrators, staff and support services in place to guide our students and families through and beyond these unprecedented times. The ongoing commitment from our EPS staff to place the education and well-being of our students front and center has, and continues to be, unwavering. We are confident the path for an outstanding educational experience for each and every student will continue to be excellent.

We also wanted to thank you, our families. We recognize your role as important partners in the education of your students, and understand there will be new and unique demands a distance learning environment will present for each and every family. We are committed to supporting you and share in your commitment to the education of your students.

As your School Board, we welcome our community to join us in providing our EPS staff, and each other, the support needed to navigate the challenging weeks ahead. As we rely on each other for help and resources, we know healthy collaboration and communication in our school community will be essential for positive student engagement, learning and growth. We are in this together.

Edina has some of the best and brightest in our community. As we face ahead, recognizing there will be bumps in the road as we all embark new territory, we are confident our collective perseverance, resilience and compassion will carry us through -- stronger as a school community and a continued leader in educational excellence.

Please remember to keep yourself and your family healthy and safe. We are EPS proud.
