EHS alum selected for prestigious scholarship

Brandon Carlson-Clarke Feb. 8, 2019 – Edina High School (EHS) 2016 graduate Brandon Carlson-Clarke has been selected as a semi-finalist for the prestigious Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. Carlson-Clarke, a student at Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Washington, was chosen from a pool of nearly 1,500 applicants.

Carlson-Clarke who plans to major in neuroscience, has narrowed his college transfer of choice to either Harvard, John Hopkins, or Stanford University. The Jack Kent Foundation grants the Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship to high-achieving community college students as they transfer to some of the top four-year institutions in the country to complete their bachelor’s degrees.

Each recipient will receive up to three years of financial support, college planning services, ongoing advising, and the opportunity to connect with fellow Cooke Scholars.  Scholarship recipients are evaluated on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, service to others, and leadership. Recipients will be announced in April.
