Kindergarten Information Nights set
Oct. 29, 2018 - Edina’s class of 2032 will begin the enrollment process Tuesday, Nov. 27 with Kindergarten Information Nights at the school district’s five neighborhood schools. Information Nights provide an opportunity to meet the school’s principal and kindergarten teachers, learn about kindergarten curriculum, and get details regarding the online registration process.
In addition, separate information nights are scheduled for families interested in the Continuous Progress programs at Countryside or Highlands elementary schools, or the French Immersion program at Normandale Elementary:
- Tuesday, Nov. 27, 7 p.m. – Neighborhood Schools: Concord, Cornelia, Countryside, Creek Valley and Highlands elementary schools
- Tuesday, Dec. 4 – Continuous Progress Programs
- Countryside Elementary, 6:15 p.m.
- Highlands Elementary, 7 p.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 6 – Normandale French Immersion, 7 p.m.
Online registration will happen during an 11-day window, Jan. 14-24, 2019. Online registration makes it easy to complete forms and upload materials from home. The link to online kindergarten registration forms will be live on Jan. 14 at 8 a.m. through Jan. 24 at 3:30 p.m.
All EPS resident families of incoming kindergarteners will receive a mailer with information about kindergarten information nights, enrollment options and the steps to completing kindergarten registration. The pink preference form need only be returned if a family is interested in enrolling in a continuous progress program at Countryside or Highlands elementary, or Normandale French Immersion School. Completing the preference form is not a guarantee of placement in a choice program.
Kindergarten families should watch for the mailer to arrive mid-November and check the district website for important dates and information related to kindergarten registration, including information about early childhood screening, Health Services, KIDS Club out of school care programming, and an FAQ.
