Community survey will provide input for school district’s strategic plan

Nov. 7, 2018 - Community input is an important part of the strategic planning process underway at Edina Public Schools. In addition to community forums and focus groups during the week of Nov. 5, a community survey has been launched.

The survey is open to anyone who resides in Edina Public Schools’ district boundaries or works for the district. The goal is to provide an opportunity for district families, community members, and employees to provide their thoughts about key issues, challenges and opportunities as the district creates a strategic plan for the next five years and beyond.

The survey will take 8-10 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and all responses are anonymous. Results of the survey will become part of the strategic planning process along with information gathered at the community forums, small group focus sessions, and one-on-one conversations that have been occurring over the past month.

The strategic planning process began last spring when MGT Consulting Group was selected by the School Board to guide the process. Dr. Fred Seamon, MGT executive vice president, is leading the work at EPS, in collaboration with an ad hoc committee of the School Board consisting of Board members Matt Fox, Ellen Jones and Sarah Patzloff. The School Board will use work sessions and regular meetings to discuss the process and progress of the strategic plan throughout the next several months, with approval of a final plan expected in early 2019.

Here is the link to the EPS Strategic Planning Survey. The survey will close on Nov. 20.

Thank you for taking the time to provide input to this important process.
