Boys and Girls Teams Ski to 2nd Place Finishes on a Chilly Night

1/5/18: On a chilly night at Buck Hill, the boys and girls Varsity alpine teams squared off against opponents at Buck Hill.

The boys continue to set the pace with Carl Bergult finishing 1st and Soren Linduist finishing 2nd.  Chris Reichling put in another strong performance, finish 6th overall.  However, Minnetonka's depth again won out as they edged the Hornets for the top spot, 417 to 403.5.  Tanner Hopkins and Paul Abscal Larson also put in strong performances to earn top 20 finishes.
The girls showed their depth but also came up a little short to Minnetonka as they outscored the Hornets, 386.5 to 354. Sophie Shuster led the Hornets with her 8th place overall finish.  Ilea Corniea followed with a 9th place overall finish.  Julia Moran also earned a top 20 finish for the Hornets.
Both teams are looking very strong as we move through the end of winter break and kick the season into high gear.
In addition to Edina, this race included Lake Conference teams from Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Wayzata, Hopkins, as well as Orono.
