School Board selects three finalist candidates for superintendent position
April 29, 2021 - The Edina School Board narrowed the field of candidates for the superintendent position from six to three finalist candidates at a special meeting on April 28. The three candidates who will move forward in the process are:
Dr. Timothy Anderson: Anderson has been principal at South View Middle School, Edina, since 2016. Prior to that he worked in Bloomington Public Schools as director, and then executive director of Teaching and Learning for nine years. He began his career in education as a high school social studies teacher. Anderson holds a bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College, and a master’s degree and doctorate of education from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Jharrett Bryantt: Bryantt has been assistant superintendent, Office of Strategy and Innovation in Houston ISD, Texas, since 2016. Prior to that he held positions of program manager, senior manager and director over three years at Houston ISD’s EMERGE Department of College Readiness. He began his career in education as a geometry teacher at YES Prep School in Houston. Bryantt holds a bachelor's degree from Yale University, and a master’s degree and a doctorate of education from the University of Texas-Austin.
Dr. Stacie Stanley: Stanley has been associate superintendent at Eden Prairie Public Schools since 2018. Prior to that she worked in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage school district for four years as director of Equity and Integrated Support Services, and then as director of Curriculum, Assessment, Instruction and Support Services. She was principal at two elementary schools in the Roseville district for six years. She began her career in education as a teacher in the East Metro Integration District for six years. Stanley holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of St. Catherine, and a doctorate of education from Bethel University.
Final interviews will take place May 3, 4 and 5, with a separate finalist each day. Their day in the district will include meetings with students, employees, administrators and the community. The Board is expected to select the final superintendent candidate Wednesday evening, May 5, following the final candidate interview.
