Meet The Minnesota Vixen

Minnesota Vixen female football game Meet the Minnesota Vixen, an all female tackle football team! Founded in 1999, the Minnesota Vixen team is an inclusive, strong group of women spreading the love they have for the sport and culture of football through participating in the team. From the Minnesota Vixen webpage, “The Minnesota Vixen take pride in playing high-caliber, tackle football and being role models to men, women and children alike... both on and off-the-field.”

Members of the WPFL (Women’s Professional Football League), the Minnesota Vixen played in  the very first all-female game in 1999. The Minnesota Vixen currently participate in the WFA (Women’s Football Alliance), along with 70 teams nationwide. With recent news about female sports teams like the womens’ U.S. soccer team being a hit, Edina Community Education is excited to offer an event that supports a local female team in a male dominated sport.

On Saturday, August 17th from 9 am-12 pm, Edina Community Education will host a Women's Football Camp Featuring the Minnesota Vixen. Women (ages 12+) are invited to learn and experience the game of football. The camp will start with learning all about football, followed by a Q&A discussion. Afterwards, attendees will head out to Kuhlman Field with the Minnesota Vixen to practice football drills and meet the players! Each person enrolled in the camp will also receive one free ticket to any MN Vixen game for the 2019-20 season!

The Edina Community Center hosted the Vixen team at Kuhlman Field throughout their 2018-19 season and we cannot wait to kickoff our 2019 fall programming with them!

Registration opens August 1
