Fun and Games at the WISE Guys Carnival

firetruck spraying crowd of kids On a hot Tuesday afternoon, Edina Community Ed’s KIDS Club/WISE Guys program hosted its 10th annual carnival. The day was filled with classic carnival games led by students. The ring toss, lollipop tree, and plinko games were a big success. The kids were bursting with energy when the two bounce houses and dunk tank arrived, and they were thrilled to dunk their teachers into ice cold water. As a grand finale, the Edina Fire Department brought a fire truck to spray down the kids with a powerful jet. This was the fan favorite of the afternoon!

The carnival wasn’t all fun and games, however. Students also developed their creativity, communication, collaboration and leadership skills while planning and executing the event, and they also gave back to their community: 2470 pounds of food and personal hygiene products were collected as “admissions” to VEAP food pantry. What a fulfilling day of games, motivated by paying it forward.
