When you open your doors to the community, it helps everyone.
Last Saturday, April 20, the Edina Community Center hosted the Minnesota Vixen’s 21st season home opener at Kuhlman Field. The Minnesota Vixen is the longest continuously operating women’s tackle football team in existence!
“It’s really fun to be able to host games for teams outside of Edina and our schools,” says Sean Morrissey, Facilities Scheduler at Edina Public Schools.
Since 2016, when Kuhlman was renovated with a turf field and a newly resurfaced track, more people inside and outside of Edina have been able to use the stadium.
“Our facilities are open to everyone,” says Laurie Wilcox, Facilities Scheduler at Edina Public Schools. “When others like the Vixen utilize our spaces, it brings new energy and new experiences to our community.”
On Saturday, the Vixen (2-0) won 35-6 over the Wisconsin Dragons (1-1). The Minnesota Vixen play two more regular season games at Kuhlman on Saturday, May 18, and Saturday, June 1. For more information on the games, visit: http://www.mnvixen.com/
