Winter Session: Spotlight on The Joy of Braiding
Edina Community Ed Winter Session Includes Families Together Classes (NEW):
Registration Opens December 1
Edina Community Ed is offering several new Families Together classes in the new Winter 2019 catalog to encourage multi-generational curiosity and participation, including The Joy of Braiding.
“We all know some of the best experiences are ones we share together,” says Donna Comer, Edina Community Ed adult program coordinator. “By offering classes designed for all ages, we are inviting families to join the fun and experience the excitement of learning side-by-side.”
Families Together classes teaches more than just twists and turns. The Joy of Braiding is a hands-on class that pairs an adult with their child (age 5+) and shows them how working together can create fun and beautiful new hairstyles.
“I started this class to help strengthen mother/daughter relationships and help build confidence in young girls,” says instructor Rachel Joy. “I am beyond excited to see it come to fruition.”
Offered again this February, Joy of Braiding participants will learn the basic techniques used to create cute and easy braids that can be used anywhere from casual school days to more formal events.
The Joy of Braiding will be held on Saturday, February 2 from 9:30-11:30 am at the Edina Community Center. $49/pair ($15 for additional child).
Additional classes, such as a Family Cook Series, a Let’s Glow Crazy evening family event, a Valentine Parent and Child Painting date or a Vision Boards For Families, are also offered this Winter session giving families an opportunity to share a quality life-long learning experience together.
Registration for the Joy of Braiding and all other Winter classes offered through Edina Community Education opens Saturday, December 1 at 8:00 am.
