Paint Your Way to Spring with Community Ed Adult Education

Two women holding painted pillows. “Every child is an artist,” says artist Pablo Picasso. “The problem is to remain an artist once they grow up.” How true, which is why Edina Community Ed Adult Education is encouraging us all to find our inner artist with a line-up of inspiring, creative and fun classes this Spring.

In Pet Portrait Painting, students will paint their own custom portrait of their furry loved one whether its a dog, cat, horse or hamster for a take-home art piece. A digital picture of the pet is hand drawn onto a 16x20 inch canvas beforehand, then when students arrive to class, they paint their own masterpiece under the guidance of a professional artist. Woof!

Students will brush up with a one-of-a-kind Minnesota-themed home decor item in Paint a Throw Pillow.  By using custom freezer paper stencils and a plain 18x18 inch pillow cover as the palette, this class teaches fabric painting techniques that promise to inspire endless crafting projects for your home, cabin or gifts.  Voila!

Edina Adult Community Ed is offering two Pet Portrait Painting sessions -- Wed, April 25 from 10am-1pm or Sat, May 19 from Noon-3pm. (Cost: $45) and one Paint a Throw Pillow session on Tues, April 17 from 6:30-8:30pm (Cost: $49). Jump into Spring by creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece together with friends and neighbors!
