The Project Runway Sewing Camp, an Edina Community Ed Youth 2018 Summer Camp, promises to inspire budding sewing enthusiasts with a project-packed week. Students (grades 4-8) will build creative skills and confidence as they make their own stylish swimsuit cover up, mini messenger bag, earbud case and a personalized sewer’s handbook and celebrate their accomplishments in a fun Project Runway Showcase the last day of camp.
“Sewing never goes out of style,” says Lori Murphy, Edina Youth Enrichment Manager. “It’s a life skill that teaches much more than how to thread a needle. Students really learn and grow as they tackle each new project because they figure out how to problem solve and how important it is to be patient.”
Students will learn the basics of hand and machine sewing, as well as measuring, pinning and cutting pattern, in this class. No experience necessary for this fun and fashion-forward class. Project Runway Sewing Camp is offered from July 9-12 (five sessions) from 9:00am-Noon (Cost: $165). Register today!
