Council Member Brindle Shares Her Expertise

Mary Brindle points to the 3 branches of government on a projected presentation On Monday, September 11, second graders at Creek Valley Elementary School welcomed guest speaker Mary Brindle, a member of Edina City Council. She was there to introduce the U.S constitution to the students, and she made it fun and interactive, sharing some of her experiences in local government. After the event, Council Member Brindle reflected on her experience: “I am always amazed at the wonderment of young children. Consider what you were doing at age 7. Were you talking about the Three Branches of Government and the Constitution that established them?”  Clearly, the young learners made as big an impact on Council Member Brindle as she made on their learning. Thank you, Mary! Learn more about the Curriculum Resources Program here
