  • EHS seniors collaborate on ideas to improve distance learning in the future

    June 11, 2020 - When it was announced that students would engage in distance learning for the remainder of the school year, the opportunity to participate in a May Term project was no longer an option. With this in mind, seniors Sydney Piere and Jack Piere proposed an alternative to this year-end project.

  • School Board approves 2020-25 Strategic Plan

    June 10, 2020 - The Edina School Board approved a five-year strategic plan for the district at its regular meeting on June 8. The 19-page document, approved unanimously by the School Board, includes Mission and Vision statements and five Priority Strategies.

  • De St. Hubert named Director of Teaching and Learning

    June 8, 2020 - Edina Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Jody De St. Hubert as the district’s next Director of Teaching and Learning. She is currently principal at Alice Smith Elementary in the Hopkins school district.

    May 28, 2020 – Kathy Rendleman, executive director of the Edina Education Fund has received the Rotary Club of Edina’s Chrysanne Manoles Women in Leadership Award. The award honors and celebrates the work of women in the community.

  • Community Candidate Forum for Director of Teaching and Learning May 26

  • Edina middle schoolers graduate from Nike Game Growers Program

    May 20, 2020 – Lila Emerson and Claire Wegmann-Krider, both eighth graders at South View Middle School in Edina, were drafted by the Minnesota Lynx as their 2020 Nike Game Growers, and will be graduating from the program at the end of May.

    May 19, 2020 – Edina High School took first place in the Adam Smith division of the State Economics Challenge competition, the most challenging division for students in advanced classes.

  • District recognizes 19 retiring district employees

    May 14, 2020 - This year, 19 employees are retiring from positions all across the district. Collectively, they have contributed 358 years of service to EPS students, families and colleagues. Unfortunately, in light of the current social distancing guidelines, the district is not able to honor them with the in-person retirement celebration that has traditionally been held.

  • Highlands fourth grader among top in Midwest for fourth grade on PSAT

    May 14, 2020 – Highlands Elementary fourth grader, Yamato Takahashi is celebrating his recent success on Northwestern University’s Midwest Academic Talent Search PSAT 8/9 test. Among fourth grade test-takers in the Midwest, Yamato scored number two in math and number three in composition.

    May 8, 2020 – Edina High School is ranked among the top 10 public non-charter high schools in Minnesota by U.S. News and World Report in its annual Best High Schools Rankings. The publication ranked approximately 17,790 public high schools in the U.S.

    April 20, 2020 – Twenty-six Edina Public Schools students are being recognized for their achievements in the National Latin Exam. The 40-question multiple-choice test, sponsored by the American Classical League and the National Junior Classical League, promotes the study of Latin and encourages individual students.

  • College application forums raise funds for meal support

    April 10, 2020 - A group of EHS students are using their expertise on the college application process to raise awareness and funds for the Edina Meal Fund COVID-19 Response. The students are all members of the Youth Committee of the Edina Chinese Association (ECA) and they have already raised $2,500 to help provide meals to students who are experiencing food insecurity during the coronavirus outbreak.

  • SV students advance to state History Day Competition

    April 8, 2020 – Four South View eighth graders have qualified for the state History Day Competition. Ben Sanderson will present his research titled Apollo 11: One Giant Leap. Lila Emerson, Sonja Holtey and Kate Hagen will present their research titled Elizabeth Blackwell: Mending Justice.
