Media Center Volunteers
Media Center Volunteers are energetic, self-motivated, organized parents who volunteer to help in the Media Center. They should be patient, flexible, and willing to learn. A working knowledge of teenage slang is a plus. Computer experience is appreciated but not required. Any parent interested in becoming a Media Center Volunteer should complete this form. If you would like additional information before signing up, or are unable to access the form, please email Heather Palmer at Heather.Palmer@edinaschools.org .
Media Volunteers FAQ
How do I know when I am scheduled to work?
The Media Center Volunteer Calendar for the year appears at the bottom of the page. Scroll with the arrow on the upper left to see each month of your schedule through next June.
On the calendar there is a 9am or 12pm next to my name. Why?
These times indicate whether you will be here in the morning (9-12) or afternoon (12-3). Volunteer shifts are about two hours. Please arrive at whatever time is convenient for you during your slot. What should I do when I arrive at Valley View for my first shift?
Go to the main Valley View office and sign in as a guest. Fill out a nametag and proceed to the Media Center. Heather Palmer, Media Specialist, or Liz Kincaid, Media Assistant, will be there to greet you and direct your work.
What if I am unable to volunteer due to a conflict, illness or vacation, etc.?
Contact one of the subs from the roster OR ask another volunteer to switch shifts with you OR just let me know by emailing email@example.com. Once the volunteer roster is complete, you will receive a copy via email; it includes all volunteer emails and phone numbers.
