Update regarding Cheerleading Tryouts & 2020-21 season - Tuesday, June 2
Tryouts for the 2020-2021 cheerleading season will begin the week of June 22, 2020 outdoors on a field at Edina High School.  This is the tryout for the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Middle School teams.  In order to tryout, athletes must register with Edina High School by June 15th.  On June 15th you will the receive an email with detailed tryout/safety information along with videos of the tryout material.  Athletes will be responsible for learning the material (a dance, a cheer and a jump) prior to their tryout.  We will have an online sign up system set up so the athletes can request to be in small groups for their tryout time.  It is our top priority to provide a safe, socially distant, tryout for these athletes.

The season may look different this year compared to the past.  We will start the season out focusing on the skills and drills we are able to do while following the guidelines from the state, the high school league and our district.  We will be putting an emphasis on the "game day"/sideline aspects of the sport.

The tryout document you will receive on June 15th will have more detail about the tryout process and about the teams.  We plan to announce teams via email before July 4th.  After teams are announced more specific team information will be provided regarding practice schedule, fees, competitions, etc.

Varsity will likely start in July, JV in August and MS in September.  We will be adjusting practice schedules and the plan of the season as we learn more about what is cleared for us to do.
