Bill Hicks begins his 26th year as counselor at EHS. As Post High School Counselor he will be in charge of planning and coordinating all parent and student programs. He will also coordinate the College and Career Center along with the high school advisory program. Included in his duties will be in charge of the PSAT and National Merit Program.

Nikki Plafcan is entering her first full year as a School Counselor at Edina High School. She has been a part of Edina High School for six years working in Special Education, Options Alternative Learning Program, was a Long-Term School Counseling substitute, and most recently, May Term Advisor. Nikki received her B.A degree in Secondary Education from Concordia College, and her M.S degree in School Counseling from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Angela Kieffer is entering her sixth year in the Counseling Department. She was a Child Psychology teacher here at EHS 17 years. She received her B.S. degree in Education from Mankato State University, Master’s in Teaching from St. Mary’s University and M.A. in School Counseling at Adler Graduate School.

Taylor Johnson is a former graduate of EHS and the French Immersion program. He is entering his sixth year of school counseling at EHS after teaching 3 years at South Korea’s premier Math and Science international high school. After receiving is B.A. from the University of St Thomas, he received his M.A. from the University of Minnesota in Counseling Students and Personnel Psychology.

Dylan Hackbarth is starting fourth year as a school counselor at Edina High School. Throughout his career, Dylan has worked in Baltimore City Public Schools, Fairfax County Public Schools in Northern Virginia and St. Paul Public Schools. Dylan completed his undergraduate at the University of Minnesota and his M.S. in School Counseling through Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Lisa Burnham is in her 25th year of counseling students at Edina High School. Prior to Edina, she worked at Farmington High School. She received her B. A. in Psychology, and a concentration in Speech-Communications at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. She earned her M.Ed, with an emphasis in Secondary School Counseling, from North Dakota State University.

Sandy Schmidt is in her 13th year of counseling students at Edina High School. She previously spent 12 years as a counselor at Eden Prairie High School and 2 years at Northfield Middle School. She received her B.S. degree in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and M.A. in School Counseling at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Julie Block is entering her 26th year as an educator. She was at Eden Prairie HS where she was a counselor for 18 years. Previously, she was an Counselor and Social Studies Teacher. She received her BA in Psychology and Social Studies Education at St. Olaf College and her MA from the University of MN Counseling Student Personnel Psychology Program. She looks forward to empowering EHS students to attain personal, social, and academic success and to find their right fit post-secondary option.
