During these uncertain times, Edina Public Schools remains committed to safety and learning for our students.

EPS follows the guidelines and protocols set forth by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), focusing especially on the four “pillars” of virus mitigation: masking, social distancing, washing hands and staying home if sick. Our educators and staff have worked diligently to design new ways of doing things in order to keep our students safe while they are growing as learners. We believe that in-person, face-to-face learning is preferred if possible, but we will continue to evaluate if the need for a continued fully-online option is necessary.

As we continue to monitor and adapt to this changing environment, our focus is always on what is best for providing an excellent and safe education for our students.

Virtual Information Nights

Information nights will be held virtually. Each school will be hosting Q/A Google Meets for parents. Links will be available on the Kindergarten Enrollment page.

Welcome Class of 2034!

Dear Edina Public Schools families,

We are pleased and excited to welcome you to Edina Public Schools! While the start of kindergarten is still months away, we are busy planning and can’t wait for you to join us. Part of that planning includes the start of a strong school-to-home partnership, which is critical to your child’s success over the next 13 years. The connection between school and families begins with the kindergarten registration process.

We encourage you to virtually attend your neighborhood school’s Kindergarten Information Night on Tuesday, Dec. 1, or Dec. 8, 2020. In addition, the districtwide choice options of Continuous Progress and French Immersion will also hold virtual information nights in December. These sessions provide information about kindergarten, out-of-school time programming, and give you an opportunity to meet school principals and staff. We do hope that in the future, we will be able to provide a chance for you to visit the school in-person.

If you have additional questions about kindergarten options in Edina Public Schools, please contact the Enrollment office at 952-848-4585 or If you know that your child will not enter kindergarten in Edina Public Schools in Fall 2021, we ask that you please call the Student Enrollment Center at 952-848-4585 so we can update our records accordingly. Welcome to Edina Public Schools!

Schedule Preschool Screening

Early Childhood Developmental Screening is a check of a child’s development, vision and hearing, growth, health history and immunizations. Screening is recommended when a child is three to four years old and must be completed before starting kindergarten in a Minnesota public school. This year, screening will be taking place virtually from the comfort of your own home via Google Meet, and will take approximately 30 minutes. Your child can, but does not need to attend the screening process, as we are using parent input tools.
Screenings are done by appointment only. Screenings take place on:

  • Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 8 a.m. to Noon

Appointments are scheduled every 30 minutes. Please call or email to schedule an appointment: 952-848-3985 or For further information, visit
