Rock - Young Scholars
Welcome To Young Scholars!
Young Scholars opens up the door of advanced learning for historically underrepresented, high ability students to think deeply and GROW POTENTIAL. The aim is for students to feel ready to experience rigorous course work in upper-elementary, middle, and high schools and, ultimately, higher education. Meet Mrs. Rock
Hi! My name is Michele Rock. I am excited to be your child’s Young Scholars Teacher. I received my undergraduate degree in Child Psychology and Criminology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Minnesota. I received my Elementary Licensure and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas. This is my 22nd year teaching with Edina Public Schools. This is my 3rd year teaching in the Young Scholars Program. I teach Young Scholars Grades 1-5 at Countryside and Concord Elementary. Previously I taught Kindergarten for 19 years at Concord. I love working with children! I am married and have 3 children. I have twin boys, Tyler and Casey, who are 18 years old. Casey is a freshman at Gustavus Adolphus College. Tyler was drafted in the NAHL and is playing hockey in Alaska for the Kenia River Brown Bears. My daughter, Caitlin, is a freshman at Holy Family Catholic High School. I love spending time watching my children play hockey, doing Zumba, going for walks, and spending time with my friends!Michele RockYoung Scholars Specialist
