Summer break is here and hopefully your family is excited to carve out some time to read this summer. Reading during the summer can be relaxing and fun and research has proven again and again that it builds skills and prevents the “summer slide” (the loss of reading skills).
There are lots of opportunities this summer for students to get involved in library programming in the community. Library programming helps motivate students to read and to get involved in lots of other offerings from book clubs to technology classes to crafting workshops. It also connects them to other young people with similar interests. Below you will find a number of links to local library and bookstore opportunities and programming.
