    Staff will be available via phone, email and in-person between the hours of 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

    The Activities Office will be closed the following dates this summer. We will respond to voicemails and emails upon our return.

    Troy Stein- Assistant Principal/Activities Director
    Troy Stein joined Edina High School as the Activities Director/Assistant Principal in July 2013.  In high school, Mr. Stein was a three sport athlete on the football, basketball and baseball teams.  He went on to play baseball at the University of Minnesota.  He taught Math at South View Middle School, Edina High School & Chaska High School (CHS).  In 2008, Mr. Stein held a similar position at CHS overseeing all high school activities, athletics and fine arts programs.  Mr. Stein has coached at the youth, high school and college levels over the years.  Mr. Stein earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in math education from the University of Minnesota.  He also holds an administrative education specialist degree from the University of St. Thomas.

    Troy and his wife, Debbie, have four children: Noelle (born 2008), Tessa (2010), Penelope (2013), and Sawyer (2016). 

    Joe Burger - Activities & Athletics Coordinator
    Joe joined the Activities Office at Edina in the Fall of 2014.  He has experience coaching high school football, basketball, and baseball in addition to working at Holy Family Catholic High School and Minnetonka High School in an adminsitrative role since graduating from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in History in 2004.  Joe has also been the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Edina since 2013.

    Joe and his wife, Lindsay, have two daughters: Claire (born in 2010) and Lauren (2012).

    Samantha O'Donnell - Activities & Athletics Administrative Assistant
    Samantha joined the Activities Office in the fall of 2020. Previously she worked in both the Main Office and Counseling Office here at EHS. Before coming to Edina, Samantha worked in preschool classrooms within the St. Louis Park and Osseo Area School Districts. After 13 years, she was ready to pursue a role outside of the classroom, but still within a school building. The decision to step outside of the classroom brought her to Edina High School, where she found her new passion—helping high school students grow and flourish into young adults.

    Samantha and her boyfriend, Noel, have two pets: a dog named Tucker, and a cat named Pusskins.

    Steve Tschida ATC, B.S., M.Ed. -  Head Athletic Trainer/Equipment Manager
    A graduate of the University of Minnesota; Steve has been providing Edina athletes with comprehensive sports medicine and athletic equipment coordinator services for Edina High School, Valley View & South View Middle schools for the past 17 years. Steve will be providing athletic injury care and management services at our high school athletic training room during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
    Eric Risberg, ATC, B.S. - Assistant Athletic Trainer (Edina Community Center)

    A graduate of the University of North Dakota, Eric joined our sports medicine staff in the fall of 2011, and is excited about becoming part of our athletic program and working with our student athletes, coaches, and parents.  Eric will be providing comprehensive athletic injury care and management services at our community center athletic training room during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

    *Both Steve and Eric are provided by Twin Cities Orthopedics for our sporting events. 


    EHS Wellness Center Staff

    Nate Huot, MSc, CSCS -  Strength and Performance Coach, EHS Wellness Center Supervisor, Program Coordinator

    Nate is a native of Dawson, Minnesota. He graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) with a Bachelor of Exercise Science Degree with a concentration in Corporate Wellness/Exercise Leadership, and Coaching and Human Performance. Nate played collegiate football and basketball while attending SMSU. Previously, he has worked as a sports performance coach at Wellefast and Training Haus.
