American Indian Parent Advisory Committee (AIPAC)
The American Indian Education Program includes a Parent Committee, which is made up of parents of American Indian students in the district. We welcome new faces and encourage collaboration to achieve a thriving community to help us support our native children and community.
The goals of this committee are:
- That all American Indian students are ready for kindergarten
- That all American Indian students are achieving 3rd grade literacy
- To close the achievement gap for American Indian students
- That all American Indian students are attaining career and college readiness
- That all American Indian students are graduating from high school
Two staff members have joined the district to provide targeted leadership and support for Native American students and families.
EHS senior Andrea Richardson received the 2019 Rose Rees Peace Award from the National Council of Jewish Women – Minnesota (NCJW) at a ceremony on May 1.
Three Edina High School (EHS) juniors participated in a semester-long journey through places and beliefs that their ancestors knew well. Carson Ryan, Andrea Richardson and Clayton Carlson were part of the Dave Larsen American Indian Immersion Experience.
