School Board candidacy filing period closes Aug. 16
The candidacy filing period for persons interested in running for election to the Edina School Board opened Tuesday, Aug. 2 and closes Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. A notarized Affidavit of Candidacy form must be filed within that time period in the office of the school district clerk located in room 336 of the District Office, along with a $2 filing fee.
An informational meeting for persons considering candidacy was held on Tuesday, July 19 at 6 p.m. at the Edina Community Center in room 351. Superintendent Stanley provided potential candidates with an overview of the district and the strategic plan, along with information about what is expected of our Edina school board members.
This special election will fill the vacant seat of Leny Wallen-Friedman and the remaining term of that seat. The Board approved David Goldstein as an interim member until the election. The elected member will begin their tenure once the results are certified. The seat will expire December 31, 2023.
