Apr. 13, 2021 - The Edina 212 student leadership group will be sharing their story on The Power of Young People to Change the World, a radio show hosted by the National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC), on Thursday, April 22, at 5 p.m. The five seniors who serve on the cabinet will meet with Karen VanAusdal from the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) to discuss the social and emotional learning that was developed through being involved with and serving as the leaders of 212. The cabinet members are:

  • Annalee Friedman
  • Annika Diasabeygunawardena
  • Khoi Nguyen
  • Lizzie Steinlage
  • Aidan Bennett

212 Leadership Group is made up of over 300 gr. 9-12 students at Edina High School who engage with their school community, local community, and beyond, through service opportunities. This year, with things having to be remote or distanced, the group switched gears to accommodate these changes. From distributing mask kits that students volunteered to put together, to organizing other students to make videos of themselves reading a children’s book for elementary students, the group works with and for youth to create positive change in Edina.
