Schools collecting donations for NFL benefit event

Several Edina schools are participating in NFL Super Kids, Super Sharing, an event leading up to Super Bowl LII.

Concord, Countryside, Cornelia, Creek Valley, and Highlands elementary schools, and South View Middle School are collecting gently used or new books, sports equipment, school supplies, and games that will be made available to low income students and organizations that benefit local children in need. Items collected from more than 100 schools in the Twin Cities will be donated to more than 70 organizations. Schools are also collecting used cell phones for the Verizon Foundation which provides support for STEM education in schools.

Representatives from each donating school will bring items to Braemar Field on Jan. 18 and have the opportunity to meet Vikings players, cheerleaders, and the mascot. Check school websites for information on how to donate.
