School Board hears calendar options for next two school years
Calendar options for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years were presented to the School Board on Nov. 13. A 14-member committee of parents, staff and administration developed two options for each school year with differing scenarios around no school days, early release/late start dates, and test schedules. Of note are the first days of school, which will be different for each of the two calendar years. Both options for the 2018-19 school year have school starting after Labor Day, allowing maximum time for completion of summer construction. The 2019-20 options begin school the week before Labor Day.
The Board is expected to vote on the calendar options at the Dec. 11 regular meeting.
