School Board candidacy filing period begins July 27
The candidacy filing period for persons interested in running for election to the Edina School Board will open on Tuesday, July 27, and close on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 5 p.m. A notarized Affidavit of Candidacy form must be filed within that time period in the office of the school district clerk located in room 336 of the District Office, along with a $2 filing fee.
An informational meeting for persons considering candidacy will be held on Tuesday, July 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Edina Community Center in room 350. Superintendent Stanley will provide potential candidates with an overview of the district and the strategic plan, along with information about what is expected of our Edina school board members.
This year, the Board terms of Erica Allenburg, Matt Fox, Ellen Jones, and Owen Michaelson will expire on Dec. 31, 2021. Voters who reside within the Edina school district will elect four board members on Tuesday, Nov. 2. They will begin their tenure on the Board on Jan. 1, 2022.
