EHS students seek investment from sharks in inaugural Edina Shark Tank

Three EHS DECA students, Vishal Dasani, Elodie Jones, and Robbie Smith, had an opportunity to enter the shark tank and impress the sharks with their pitches. Dasani pitched his Ploutos Investment App, making investing easier for the next generation of entrepreneurs. Jones pitched Bodiecelli, custom and trendy swimwear that enhances a woman’s confidence. Smith pitched his business, Edina Boys Lawncare, yard service that takes care of all sorts of individual and customer needs. Each student offered a presentation explaining their business and how an investment from the sharks would be utilized.

After deliberation, the sharks crowned Jones Edina Shark Tank Champion, receiving a monetary prize. The runner-ups also received a monetary prize.

Edina Shark Tank provides DECA students the opportunity to pitch their classroom prepared entrepreneurship project to a group of local “sharks” to compete for cash prizes and the title of Edina Shark Tank Champion. DECA is an international association of high school and college students studying marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. Throughout the year, students acquire knowledge that helps with their success at competitions and more importantly, success in the real world.
