Edina High School wins State Championship in music listening

The Edina High School (EHS) music listening team, consisting of members Soren Edman, Charlie Klukow, and Paul Gherghetta, secured first place at the Minnesota High School Music Listening Contest (MLC). Team members participated in five rounds of competition and were awarded a total of 91 points out of 100.

To prepare for the championship each team member received a study guide and access to the MLC playlist. During the competition, students were timed and asked to identify titles and composers by listening to excerpts of music. Students also answered multiple choice questions related to study materials.

The objective of the Minnesota High School Music Listening Contest is to inspire students to become lifelong participants in the musical experience.
