Edina High School Celebrates Historic 200th State Championship Title
Edina High School, an institution known for its excellence in academics and sports, is thrilled to announce a historic milestone as it celebrates its 200th state championship title, achieved last spring.
The journey began in 1954 when Edina High School secured its very first state championship title, and the milestone 200th title was clinched by the Boys’ Golf team, cementing their place in history.
To commemorate this monumental accomplishment, Edina High School invites all alumni, students, staff, families, and community members to join the "200 State Championship Celebration" at Kuhlman Field on Thursday, Sept. 14. The event promises a night of excitement and nostalgia, bringing together generations of Hornet supporters.
The celebration kicks off with tailgating at Kuhlman Field in the Gold Lot, located at 5701 Normandale Road, starting at 5:00 p.m. Attendees can savor delicious bites from food trucks and reconnect with classmates while basking in the spirited atmosphere. Later that evening, the Hornets will take on the Minnetonka Skippers at 7:00 p.m.
“Edina High School is proud to have reached this remarkable milestone in its history, and we look forward to celebrating with our entire community on Sept. 14,” said Troy Stein, Edina High Schools’ Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. “Join us in making this event a memorable tribute to the decades of dedication, talent, and teamwork that have brought us to this momentous achievement.”
Members of title-winning teams are invited to a special opportunity to come together for a group photo just before the game and march into the stadium together. The first 200 champions to confirm their attendance will receive a free ticket to the game and a 200 State Title giveaway.
