Ed Fund receives $300K in funding for continued LETRS training

Over the past year, the Edina Education Fund was awarded federal funds through the American Relief Plan Act (ARPA) for our Heal Together Mental Health Campaign. With these funds, they have been able to establish mental health therapists in every school building, provide professional development in trauma-informed and restorative practices to staff, and ensure that students are able to access mental health services regardless of their insurance status.

Last week, the Edina City Council approved the second half of ARPA funding and granted the Ed Fund additional funding towards our LETRS Campaign (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling). This grant provides much-needed funds to support the continuation of our PreK through grade 2 teachers in their LETRS professional development.

Thank you to all that have contributed to this initiative and to the City of Edina for recognizing the importance of this work. If you’d like to learn more about our LETRS Campaign or any of the work being done at the Ed Fund, please visit edinaedfund.org.
