Creek Valley Elementary welcomes Principal Amy Reed
Edina Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Amy Reed as the new principal of Creek Valley Elementary School. With an extensive administrative and coaching career, all at the elementary level, Dr. Reed brings a wealth of expertise to the Creek Valley community and our district.
Dr. Reed has nearly ten years of experience serving in the principal role. She served as the principal of Eisenhower Elementary School in Minneapolis, MN, and is currently the principal of Ramsey Elementary School. In 2021, the Minnesota Elementary School Principals’ Association (MESPA) endorsed Ramsey Elementary as a Minnesota School of Excellence for Ramsey’s commitment to excellence and continual growth.
Amy began her career with Osseo Area Schools, where she served as an elementary teacher for ten years. She went on to serve as an instructional coach with Anoka-Hennepin Schools. During her time in this role, Amy was a semifinalist for the highly distinguished Minnesota Teacher of the Year award. She went on to serve as an assistant principal for Rum River Elementary School before moving into the principalship.
Dr. Reed completed her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at the University of North Dakota. She earned her Master of Education from St. Mary’s University and her Doctor of Education in Leadership in K-12 Administration from Bethel University.
“Dr. Reed has exceptional leadership experience as a school principal that includes a depth of experience with the science of reading, which is a key focus in our district and state,” shared Superintendent Dr. Stacie Stanley. “We are delighted for her to join Edina Public Schools and Creek Valley Elementary Community!”
Dr. Reed will assume her role as the principal of Creek Valley Elementary School on July 1, 2024.
