Bauck honored by MASBO
Margo Bauck, retiring director of Edina Public Schools Business Services Department, was presented the Outstanding Lifetime Contribution Award by the Minnesota Association of School Business Officials (MASBO) at their annual conference in Duluth, May 9.
The Award “celebrates the overall contributions of Minnesota school business officials to their districts or organizations, their communities, and the profession.” It honors the cumulative accomplishments of MASBO members and is the capstone to a career in school business. Bauck will retire from EPS at the end of June.
Bauck has led the work of Edina Public School’s business office for nine years. Her leadership was instrumental in the planning and completion of the district’s Next Gen Facilities construction, which included the 2015 Facilities Bond Referendum, the property purchase for the new transportation facility and sale of the old property. Additionally, Bauck conducted the financial planning for the 2011 Capital Technology Levy and the 2017 Operating Referendum renewal and increase. “I hope that the teams I have worked with have had a positive impact in supporting the education of all Edina students,” she said.
During Bauck’s tenure, the district has annually received a School Finance Award from the Minnesota Department of Education and has maintained the highest credit rating granted to school districts. Her position in Edina includes leadership of the business services, transportation, buildings and grounds, and nutrition services departments.
Bauck’s 35-year career in school business and finance has included positions in the Prior Lake-Savage, Faribault, and Owatonna public school districts. She was also a school district financial planning consultant for 10 years.
