24 receive awards at national Latin competition

Edina High School (EHS) students turned in all levels of “cum laude” scores on the recent Latin National Exam. Thirty-five students represented EHS in the competition; 24 of them received awards.

The American Classical League organizes the exam for all Latin students in America and invites competitors from all over the world. Students who participate in this exam prepare outside of class by reading stories of mythology and history, and studying derivatives and poetry.

The 2018 Latin Exam medalists are:

Latin V

  • Gold Medal – Summa Cum Laude: Davis Everson-Rose, Megan Conover

Latin IV

  • Silver Medal – Maxima Cum Laude: Henry Mans, Anjali Aralikar, Oscar O’Brien
  • Magna Cum Laude: Nathan Hafey, Sarah Mansky, Reilly Hannula
  • Cum Laude: Riley Masica, Elizabeth Randall, Mari Redi

Latin III

  • Gold Medal – Summa Cum Laude: Anika Deshpande, Brendan Polomis, Romy Luong
  • Silver Medal – Maxima Cum Laude: Amy Wang, Elaine Patzloff
  • Magna Cum Laude: Lasse Hackbarth, Shrey Ramesh
  • Cum Laude: Geneva Anderson, Jamie Nymark

Latin II

  • Gold Medal – Summa Cum Laude: Alexis Yi, Jamie Yuan, Reagan Stanchfield
