Environmental Health and Safety
Practices that Support Healthy and Safe Schools
The Buildings and Grounds environmental health and safety practices support compliance with applicable regulations while guiding day-to-day operations. These efforts include regular facility inspections, preventive maintenance, and staff training.
The district also monitors and responds to potential health and safety hazards, manages incident reporting and follow-up, and works to reduce risks related to building conditions, chemicals, and other environmental factors. Together, these practices help keep our district safe and supportive for learning.

Environmental Sustainability
Edina Public Schools is committed to environmental sustainability. Several of our schools have been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for ranking among the top 25% of facilities nationwide for energy efficiency:
- Concord Elementary
- Cornelia Elementary
- Countryside Elementary

- Highlands Elementary
We continue to implement environmentally responsible practices that support sustainable district facilities.
