Devices: Acquisition and Requirements
Every sixth through twelfth grade student is required to bring a portable electronic learning device to class and leverage the power of technology throughout their academic experience with Edina Public Schools. This learning device must have a keyboard and be capable of running the Google Chrome browser.
To facilitate access to a learning device, Edina Public Schools offers several options:
- Edina Public Schools will provide students with a Chromebook for no cost assuming there is no damage to the device. Devices are distributed during Get Connected Day events as well as throughout the school year in the school's media center. Please have your student bring a completed loan agreement form for device checkout.
- Edina Public Schools has partnered with Best Buy in an innovative partnership to allow eligible families to purchase devices at a discounted rate. For more information about this program, click here.
- Students are able to bring their own device from home. Approved devices are able to run the Google Chrome browser and come equipped with a keyboard. It is highly recommended that a student's device be able to maintain a charge throughout the day, as access to outlets can be prohibitive.
