Classes and Programs
At the Edina Early Learning Center (ELC), we believe that every child is unique and every child learns and grows at his or her own pace. We also know that learning will be deeper, richer and more lasting when learning differences are understood and embraced. At ELC, our classes and programs are designed with this in mind to meet the needs of each individual child and help all young learners realize their full potential.
Our academic curriculum and discovery-based settings help to develop critical thinking skills and foster growth socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Aligned with the Minnesota State Standards and Edina Public Schools curriculum, our comprehensive programming ensures smooth transitions to kindergarten and beyond.
We offer options for every family. Choose from one- to five-day programs with the choice to combine some classes with parent education through Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), or the option to add on to your child’s class with Extended Learning time.

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)
Unique to Minnesota, Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is the heart of the Early Learning Center and is offered only through Public School District Community Education programs like ours. ECFE classes*, designed for parents and their children ages birth to 5 years old, focus on giving parents the information, resources and tools they need to provide the best possible environment for their child’s learning and growth. *Look for the ECFE heart in our class listings indicating a parenting education component.
Classes for Infants and Toddlers (birth to 36 months)
It’s never too early to share a learning journey with your child, and ECFE is a key component in our infant and toddler classes to make that possible.
Classes for Preschoolers (24 months - Pre-Kindergarten)
Preschool is a fun and exciting time for children. Brains are developing rapidly, and we are here to help ignite a lifelong love of learning. We focus on social and emotional development along with academic skills that are age-appropriate.
Once your child has moved on to elementary, middle or high school, where can you find that supportive community and the answers you need for your parenting concerns? The Edina Family Center is proud to offer “Beyond ECFE” classes to meet your needs.
We also offer Individual Parent Education for one-on-one time with a Licensed Parent Educator.
