  • Head Varsity Coach – Katie Aafedt
Katie is entering her sixth year as head coach of the Lady Hornets, and was just recently named the Section Coach of the Year (2016). Prior to her head-coaching role, she was one of the varsity assistants for 11 years. Along with coaching at EHS, she has also coached in the Edina Soccer Club and Minnesota Thunder Academy. Katie is an alum of EHS, playing in one state tournament (3rd place), and earning multiple honors along the way. After graduating from EHS (as she says, a million years ago…), she played at Gustavus Adolphus College, where she earned more honors, including being named an All-American, All-Region and All-Conference. Outside of soccer, Katie and her husband David have three kids (Fuzz – 11, Reese – 9 and Mac – 6) that keep them very busy. She loves watching all of their activities, and how they interact with so many of the different athletes at EHS.
