School Start/End Time Recommendation
Per discussion at the Dec. 12 School Board meeting, including the Board amending their charge/parameters to provide possible additional funding, administration drafted additional options for School Board review on Dec. 19. Using the insights and feedback shared at the December 12 School Board meeting, and the data collected through the study process, administration shared what other options might be available to address the Board and community feedback. The options were reviewed by Chair Wallen-Friedman and Members Goldstein and O’Brien to assist in planning for the Board discussion.
The administrative school start/end time alternate options include the proposed December 12 recommendation as well as four additional options. After review with the Board sub-committee, three options (Green, White and Blue) were advanced for further consideration on Dec. 19. The Board discussed these options at length in a work session on Dec. 19, 2016. Action is expected at the School Board's meeting on Jan. 9, 2017.
