Practice food/drink can be provided at various times for teams to ensure that athletes have access to healthy snacks/drinks and hydration prior to and/or after long practices, practices that being right after school or for special occasions.
Providing practice food may make sense for some teams and not for others. As with all these items, consulting last year’s captain parents, coaches and captains will be the best place to start to determine what might be the best practices for your particular sport. There are always some traditions and histories that are good guidelines but not everything have to stay the same. Generally, make sure food and drink fit healthy guidelines for all athletes.
