• PARENTS’ PRESEASON MEETINGS

    The captain’s parents typically run the parents’ meeting with the coaches to start off the season. These meetings usually take place at the school. The meetings should typically cover:

    • Volunteer sign-up, either paper or web-based
    • Providing a schedule of events for the season
    • Obtain the team assessment
    • Explain, plan fundraisers
    • Contact information and protocol
    • Coaching philosophy
    • Team expectations
    • School and team policies
      • Student participation and eligibility requirements
      • Student attendance policies
      • Chemical violations and penalties
      • Scholastic eligibility
      • Equipment use
      • Racial/religious/sexual harassment and hazing
      • Practice expectations/requirements
      • Multiple activity participation
      • Lettering criteria
