    Volunteer Placement

After completion of your volunteer application an interview is conducted by our Program Staff. We strive to make the best match possible between volunteer opportunities and your interests and talents. Volunteers are placed in classrooms or programs only where the teachers or school site has specifically requested assistance. If you need to make a change in your assignment, for any reason please let us know as soon as possible.

    Orientation and Training

Prior to the start of your volunteering experience, an on-site orientation and  appropriate training will be provided for your assignment. This orientation will include getting familiar with the facility and some how-to’s about getting around. You will also have an opportunity to see the materials that will be used or needed for the assignments or tasks that you will be working on with the  student or group.  We will answer any questions you have about volunteering, what is expected of you, the student, and the staff. Your comfort level with the  material and expectations is important to us.
