Community Education for High School Students
Edina Community Education Services works in partnership with Edina High School to offer extended day activities before and after school, on release days and all summer long. Edina Community Education makes the connection between school and after school, providing high quality programming that enhances the Edina Public Schools curriculum.
Out-of-School Time Options:
Youth Serving Youth (YSY)
The Youth Serving Youth program at Edina High School encourages youth leadership, service, and social awareness. It allows students to connect with like-minded peers and put their ideas into action. Y.S.Y. encompasses many extra-curricular student led groups that meet regularly during the school year. Several activities qualify as community service.
Service Letter (Grades 9-12)
Edina Public Schools' students in grades 9-12 can letter in community service. The community service letter is an award earned by students who go above and beyond when it comes to serving others.
Classes and Camps
Before and after school and release day classes are available at Edina High School during the academic year.
Drivers Education (Ages 14.5+)
Edina Community Education partners with Safeway Driving School to create safe, responsible teen drivers. Classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons emphasize defensive driving techniques tailored for the inexperienced teen driver while targeting to influence the invincible teen attitude.
