Advisory Councils and Committees

Edina Public Schools' advisory committees, councils and teams provide input, advice, direction and insight to District leadership. We value the involvement of district stakeholders.

Purpose: Provides Community Education Services with input, direction and insight. Membership terms are three years.

Meetings: Third Thursday of month, 7:30 – 9 a.m., at ECC

Term: 3 Years

Purpose: Provides network for communication, support and accountability, as well as input and recommendations on gifted education programming and services.

Meetings: October 30, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m., at ECC in Room 348

Term: 2 Years

Purpose: Promotes sustainable environmental and energy conservation initiatives by providing information and support for schools and programs in the district.

Meetings: November 18, 8 - 9 a.m., at ECC in DO Conference Room

Term: 1 Year

Purpose: Provides input, support and advice to district administration on topics related to special education services and supports, including programming, staff training, and parent education.

Meetings: Third Thursday of the month, alternating between noon and late afternoon meeting times, at ECC

Term: 3 years

Purpose: Advises administration on student participation in athletics, performing arts, and academic organizations, including: lettering criteria, pepfest policies, middle school student participation on varsity athletic teams, and appeals on student suspensions from athletics and arts.

Meetings: 4 times throughout the year

Term: 2 years

Purpose: Provides insight, support and advice to address behavioral health, nutrition, staff and student wellness, and chemical use/abuse problems within the district and community; assists in the promotion of prevention strategies.

Meetings: October 3, December 19, and April 22, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., at EHS in Room W222

Term: 2 years

Purpose: Develops procedures for planning, integration and coordination of the district’s technology program.

Meetings: December 4, 8:00 - 9:30 a.m., ECC 348; February 11, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m., location TBD; May 12, 8:00 - 9:30 a.m., ECC 170

Term: 2 years

Purpose: Advises and assists district in implementation of the system accountability and continuous improvement process regarding curriculum, assessment, staff development and instruction.

Meetings: November 18, 7:00 p.m., ECC; December 11, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., at EHS in Room W222; February 11, 7:30 - 9:00 a.m., at EHS in Room W222; May 12, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., at EHS in Room W222
